Which type of bike suits you best? For this we want to briefly bring you the different terms and their distinction:
Hardtail is Mountain bikes that have a suspension fork. In expansion, a so -called fully (abbreviation for full suspension) a full suspension by also provided with a damper and a movable swing.
With both mountain bike categories, 29 inch and 27.5-inch tires have prevailed in recent years.
The "29er" offer clear advantages for certain driver types because the running properties and the assets to roll out soil obstacles (stones, roots, etc.), with the larger 29 -inch wheel diameter is noticeably easier.
The 27.5 inch diameter favors hard, progressive driving styles and offers experienced enduro drivers a bit more driving and driving dynamic advantage. Therefore, CUBE equips some series in all frame sizes with 27.5 inches and others with 29 inch tires.
At CUBE , the small frame sizes with 27.5 inch tires are equipped for some models and the larger ones with 29 inches.
In addition to the genus of mountain bikes, there are the trekking wheels that are available in different forms towards touring/travel bike or city bike. All in common is a 28 -inch tire diameter, with which you can also master long stages. The offer is supplemented by the specialists of Urban Mobility , puristic, sporty and particularly practical.
The racing bike is a classic among the bicycles. Not least thanks to the success of the team Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matéraux at the Tour de France, CUBE also received a high and media-effective level of awareness in this segment. Since it is mainly moved on the street, racing cycling is a completely different world than mountain biking. Due to nature, significantly higher speeds are reached on the racing bike and the narrow, profile -free 28 inch tires convey almost no driving comfort. The sitting position on a racing bike is also very sporty. Nevertheless, very long daily stages and tours can be mastered. And if you want to go off-road with your racing bike, cross and gravel bikes interesting alternatives.
E-bikes , also called hybrid bikes or pedelecs, have justified a completely independent new wheel segment on the market. The hybrids are available as E-MTB with a hardtail or as a fully with rear wheel damping , Tour & Trekking e-bike or as a specialist for Urban Mobility .
The Bosch drive system that works according to the principle of a mid-engine has the most powerful market meaning. The battery size is specified in watt hours (Wh). How the battery is integrated within the framework has no influence on the range. It depends on the battery size, but also on other influences such as: the selected route, the speed driven and the selected support level. Bosch engines and batteries are installed in all CUBEwheels.
The term pedelec means that the e-bike only acts as support or sliding aid. A concrete torque impulse must be carried out by the leg force on the trauma so that the electric drive is activated. You always have to join a pedelec so that the drive can support. Driving without your own is not possible.
Various frame materials are used in bicycle construction, which differ from one another by specific material properties and thus also influence driving behavior and driving characteristics. Every frame is different.
While in the early years of the mountain bike and racing bike boom of the steel frames was regarded as the measure of all things, the aluminum frame is now the standard in frame construction. A good aluminum frame is characterized by the fact that it has been converted several times - this means that the wall thickness varies several times over a pipe length. This keeps the frame weight low without endangering the stability.
Especially in the high-end area and where it matters to every gram, the bicycle industry relies on the modern miracle material carbon. He has known him for a long time, for example from motorsport - Carbon is an integral part of there. While Carbon was only reserved for expensive bikes as a very exclusive framework a few years ago, it has now also prevailed in the commercial area as an established frame material. Low weight and high resilience are the strengths of carbon. Depending on the location and arrangement of the fiber mats, the production can be specifically addressed to the desired framework properties. In this way, the carbon frame can feel very torsionally stiff and lane stable in one direction, while it deliberately flexes in the other load direction, which leads to a very dynamic, driving -active material character.
In the mountain bike area, in which chain circuits have always dominated, the US manufacturer SRAM has caused a big change in recent years. If there were up to 30 courses of up to 30 courses (3 × 10 times systems) than the ultimate, you now rely on less corridors and simple tooth wreaths on the crank. World market leader Shimano goes with this trend. Current 1 × 12-fold systems offer almost the same translation bandwidth as the 30-speed circuits, but are easier and you can switch through all corridors faster. Especially away from paved paths, the route can change over a few meters and strongly - a quick circuit is a great advantage here.
Mountain bikes from the entry -level area and for everyday life still often rely on circuits with several chainrings.
Several leaves on the crank chain circuits are at racing - and trekking wheels continue to measure things. There it depends more on densely lying translation levels than on quick change over several gears. This can react finer to small changes to the wind speed or the climbing angle.
For trekking wheels CUBE on the triple circuit to take into account journeys with luggage and on racing bikes for the road on a double tooth wreath. A simple crank is also used for individual cross and gravel bikes
Hub circuit is often found in bikes for the city area . The circuit is encapsulated in the rear wheel hub and thus protected against pollution and weather influences. This resulted in larger maintenance intervals. Especially in combination with a low and low -maintenance strap instead of a chain, the hub circuit can play its great advantages.
