Two materials - a decision!
If you want to buy a new CUBE bike-be it e-bike or organic bike-at some point meets the big question of materials: carbon or aluminum? Both have their strengths. But what do they actually differ? And when does CUBE which material?
Aluminum - the versatile classic
Whether e-bike , mountain bike , gravel bike or trekking bike : CUBE high-quality aluminum (HPA) for a large part of its models . Why? Aluminum is a real all -rounder - light , robust , corrosion -resistant and above all affordable .
CUBE relies on modern manufacturing processes such as hydroforming to design the frames particularly stiff, light and optically clean. Aluminum is absolutely reliable for everyday life, the weekend trip or trail insert.
Carbon - if it should be light, sporty and direct
If you want maximum performance, hardly a path leads carbon . CUBE uses the material specifically at high-end bikes -from ultra-light race hardtails , gravel bikes and racing bikes to powerful e-mountain bikes .
What distinguishes carbon? It is super light , extremely stiff and enables excellent power transmission - perfect for sporty driving, racing or technically demanding trails. Carbon can also be freely formed, which leads to aerodynamic, stylish frames.
But: the high-tech advantages have their price. Carbon frames are more expensive than aluminum and a little more sensitive to bumps or incorrect handling. But if you know how to deal with your bike, carbon gets the full package of speed, style and reaction.
Material labels at CUBE -what is behind it?
CUBE uses its own names to better classify the materials and technologies used. Here is a brief overview:
Hpa
= high performance aluminum -more robust, light aluminum frame, ideal for everyday life and sporty tours HPC
= high performance carbon -introduction to the CUBE -Carbonwelt, light and stiff, especially in the performance range C: 62
= carbon with 62 % fiber content -light, stiffer and high quality than HPC. Optimal for ambitious drivers C: 68x = the best of the best-68 % carbon fibers, high-end resin and super light design. Used in competition and top e-bikes
This abbreviation helps you to assess the framework quality and the purpose of your future bike even better.
Aluminum or carbon - what suits me?
