When does your CUBE Bike need an inspection?
A well -kept CUBE bike not only drives more comfortably, it also stays safe and reliable for longer. No matter which wheel you use, be it e-bike or classic bicycle-regular cleaning, targeted bicycle care and scheduled inspections are crucial to minimize wear and maintain the function of all components. Many components of your CUBE bikes - such as chain, brakes or circuit - are openly installed and the weather, dirt and salt are constantly exposed. Anyone who regularly waits for their bike avoid expensive repairs, extends the lifespan significantly and ensures more security on every trip.
In this post we show you when your bike service is due-and how you keep your CUBE bike in good condition with the right maintenance.
Service intervals at a glance
The first inspection should take place with a new bike after about 200 kilometers or at least two months. All safety -relevant components are checked and possible changes are corrected by setting trains or spokes.
For everyday use, we recommend a standard inspection once a year or every 2,000 kilometers. Whoever uses your bike more intensely - e.g. B. sporty or in any weather- it should have it checked two or three times a year. Shorter distances are useful for children's and youth bikes, since they are usually more stressed.
By the way, the best time for big services is between November and February - then there is more capacity in the workshops.
You can do that yourself-simple bicycle care & self-check
After trips in the rain or in the mud, you should clean your bike promptly. Ideally with a bucket of water, a mild cleaning agent (e.g. bicycle cleaner or some dishes), a soft brush and a sponge. High pressure cleaners are taboo - they press water in warehouse or electrical components.
You should regularly clean the chain with a cotton cloth and a suitable chain cleaner. After drying, you apply sparingly chain oil - not too much so that nothing gets on the brake discs. You have to degrease the brake surfaces and rims separately. Finally, you can preserve the frame with suitable spray wax - but please do not apply to brakes, tires or rubber parts.
Two simple tools that help you better assess the condition of your bike:
Chain wear theory : You put this small tool on the chain. It shows you if she has already succeeded - that happens over time through wear. A led chain wears outdoor and chainring much faster, which causes unnecessary costs. As soon as the measurement thorn in the teaching immerses in the chain, a change is due.
Measurement slide (sliding theory) : This allows you to easily measure the thickness of brake pads or brake discs. Depending on the system, brake pads should e.g. B. at least 1.5 mm thick. If there is less material, there is a considerable loss of braking performance - and the coverings should be replaced immediately.

Why regular maintenance is important
A well -maintained bike is safer, works more reliably and causes less repair costs. The wear is higher, especially for e-bikes-the engine and battery increase the load on brakes, rims and drive. In addition, warranty claims can expire if recommended maintenance intervals have not been met.
